Terms of Use for Tally Counter
Effective date: 8 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Shishir Rai ("we", "us", "our") about your use of the Tally Counter app (the "App"). By installing or using the App you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
1. What the App is
Tally Counter is a free counting tool. It lets you create counters, count with a tap, set targets and reminders, view history and streaks, use home-screen widgets and export your data. The App supports ads, described in section 5.
2. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not:
- copy, modify, sell, rent or redistribute the App;
- reverse engineer or decompile the App, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
- remove or bypass any ads, consent prompts or technical protections;
- use the App in a way that breaks the law or harms others.
The App, its design, icon and code remain our property. Open-source components inside the App remain under their own licences.
3. Your data
The counters, history and settings you create are yours and are stored on your device. How information is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy. Because the data lives on your device, you are responsible for backing it up. Use Settings → Export backup to save a copy. If you uninstall the App or lose your device, your counters may be lost.
4. Don't rely on it for critical purposes
Tally Counter is meant for everyday counting such as habits, prayers, repetitions and tallies. It is not designed for safety-critical, medical, financial, legal or regulatory use, and it should not be the only record of anything where a mistake could cause harm or loss. Counts can be wrong, for example from an accidental tap, an app crash or a device problem.
5. Ads and rewards
The App shows ads served by Google AdMob and offers optional rewarded ads that can unlock extra themes. We do not control which ads are shown. Rewards are digital conveniences with no cash value. They may change, and unlocked items may not carry over to a new device or a reinstall. Please don't click ads you aren't interested in, and don't use any method to generate ad impressions or clicks artificially.
6. Reminders and notifications
Reminders depend on your device. Battery-saving modes, notification settings and operating-system limits can delay or block them. We can't guarantee that a reminder will arrive on time or at all.
7. Availability and changes
We may change, suspend or discontinue the App or any feature at any time, and we may update these terms. If we make material changes we will update the effective date above and, where practical, tell you in the App or on the store listing. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated terms.
8. No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability and non-infringement. We don't promise that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted or free of harmful components.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App. Where liability can't be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App, which, for a free App, is zero. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that can't legally be waived.
10. Ending these terms
You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may end your licence if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as 4, 8, 9 and 11) survive.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Nepal, where we are based, except where the law of the place you live gives you rights that can't be waived by contract.
